Navan Municipal District, Pride of Place Awards Ceremony 2025 celebrated exceptional community efforts and achievements and this year's event was particularly exciting with Silverlawn's Sarah Shiels winning the Volunteer of the Year 2025 award for her outstanding dedication and service to the community.
Sarah has been one of the longest-serving and most dedicated members of the Silverlawn Residents' Committee, having contributed selflessly to our community for over 40 years.
Throughout her time on the committee, Sarah has played a key role as Treasurer, managing the financial responsibilities with care, transparency and trust. Her commitment has gone far beyond bookkeeping, as she has also been deeply involved in organising community events, including Family Fun Day, Christmas Raffle, Santa Claus visit, Apple Tree Planting, Easter Egg Hunt, and many others.
Despite facing health challenges and advancing age, Sarah has never stepped back from giving her time and energy.
Sarah regularly participates in community clean-up days, not only attending, but also providing refreshments to volunteers, showing care and gratitude in every way.
